I had to wake up early today as I had to help Auntie Rosa find this place in Kowloon Tong.
Then I went up to walk from the Kowloon Tong MTR Station back to HKBU.
Every step traced a memory in my mind.
It was tough walking that same path once more.
I felt like I could see and hear everything from my stay in HK.
The feeling was still as weird as yesterday.
It’s the feeling that you know you’re there but at the same time you don’t believe it and that so many thoughts are just rushing that you can’t make any sense of it all.
For the first time, I was back my home for the past four months as Jacq helped me enter the North Tower. The only difference was that now I entered through the visitor’s entrance. Jacq’s room was still the same. I gave her the books that she needed and we just had spent more time catching up in her room. Finally we decided to meet Pat at Festival Walk. On our way there, we just talked about how we were coping with missing people and everyone being gone and all.
At Festival Walk, Pat met us at Longchamp as my mom asked me to get a bag for her. Soon after, we found ourselves shopping once more: Pat got a cap from Billabong and a jumper from Esprit, I got a cap as well while Jacq got a jacket and some pants. At this point, the weird feeling was gone. I was with my first friend in Hong Kong and my best friend. Everything was perfect.
Shopping didn’t end there as Jacq needed to get a camera. Mong Kok of course would be the best place for that. After a few bargaining and checking, she decided to get the Pentax Optio6. Then, I thought of getting some cheap trainers which I achieved through the 169 HKD Pony sneakers that were on sale.
We decided to head on to Central afterwards and grab dinner at Jollibee. Pat found the burger steak quite nice and Jacq liked the palabok as well. It was funny because I had paid double the price of what a chicken and spaghetti meal would cost back at home here. But it was alright as I wanted them to try out the food. Instead of red bean pie from McDonald’s, we had peach mango pie for dessert.

It was so cold after dinner that we thought of just relaxing at Starbucks. I treated Jacq to an Americana coffee while Pat to a hot choco which I got for myself too. There we just talked about friends, family, their life now at HK, my life now back at home, me missing them and everything… It was the highlight of the day for me… to just be spending time with them. Alex and Kuan followed afterwards. It was so great...

We spent the whole night at Starbucks until it was time to catch the train. I couldn’t have asked for anything more today.
