Yesterday I got a whole day of rest.

I turned the teli on and caught Grey's Anatomy... and now I will try to catch it all the time. It's really a cool show, not just because it's a medical drama and that I would always have aspirations to become a doctor... but it got me more because somehow the show also had something about life... about how we live it each day.

The episode yesterday talked about "drawing lines" in life to keep us safe... and in the end it showed how when one draws line, what happens is that one is really boxed in... a simple insight really but I guess I needed some reminding... and that was what the show did for me.

It was also cool as there was this Chinese patient on the show... this old lady talked in Cantonese, and Grey couldn't understand a single word... never had Cantonese sounded so beautiful until hearing it again yesterday. The ending scene was touching... the old lady said "ng go sai" and somehow Grey understood it and said "thank you" in return. I know its just tv drama but its scenes like that that make me regret not pursuing medicine instead of business.

Sidetrack: I've been missing the barkada more than the usual nowadays... I say more than the usual because since I came back, I guess I never really have given thought about the barkada save for Mat and Lao whom I always talk to. It's weird though because its still not the same missing as before I left. Ahhh, can't explain really. But when I was looking at some photos I guess this one really struck me:

For some reason, after all the changes, after everything, at the end of the day... these are the people who I know are there for me... these are the friends who despite distance and time and different circumstances, I know I can still open up to... and these are the friends that make me smile now, despite the pain of missing some things... thank you, esp to Mat and Lao for being there always.
